In this light-filled duplex great room, the floor needed to unify the space without competing with it.

Working closely with the architect and interior design team, we specified long, wide planks of quartersawn American White Oak. Each board was hand-selected for consistent grain and tone, then laid in continuous runs aligned with the room’s sightlines.

The bleached oak brings warmth and softness to the double-height glazing, while a custom matte finish absorbs the abundant southern light. Flush terrace transitions, precise scribes at the columns, and clean reveals where wood meets stone complete the restrained detailing.
