SoHo Loft
In a SoHo loft composed of white planes and blackened steel, the floor supplies what the architecture withholds: warmth. Wide-plank white oak runs the length of the space in long, uninterrupted boards, some approaching twelve feet, laid to emphasize the loft's horizontal sweep. The plank width is generous, the kind that requires patient sourcing and careful acclimation before a single board is set.
The finish is matte and natural, calibrated to hold the oak's pale, honeyed tone. Knots and mineral streaks are left legible, selected rather than concealed, giving the floor a quiet character that steadies the room's minimalism against sterility.
Where oiled cabinetry meets pale oak, the floor mediates: lighter than the millwork, warmer than the walls, precisely between.
