Park Avenue Luxury

This residence was conceived as a private gallery, where museum-quality works, floating glass panels, and rooms unfolding in measured sequence create an atmosphere of quiet precision. In a setting like this, the floor becomes part of the curation: the constant, grounding element against which every object is composed.

Working in close collaboration with the interior design team, we specified wide quartersawn American Black Walnut planks, lightly hand-scraped and selected for exceptional consistency of color and disciplined, ribbon-straight grain. A custom aged cognac stain deepened the wood's natural character, while repeated sampling beneath the apartment's cove lighting refined the finish to a low satin sheen. Hand-applied varnish and paste wax allow the surface to gather light softly along each board, revealing the warmth and dimensionality of the wood without distracting from the artwork.

Interiors of this caliber are built on collaboration. From the earliest material selections through the final finish, we worked alongside the design team to ensure the flooring performed not merely as a surface, but as an integral architectural element—warm, quietly luminous, and worthy of the collection it supports.
