Gramercy Park
Wood beside water is among the most demanding briefs in our trade. In this private natatorium, the designers envisioned something few would attempt: fine parquet extending to the very edge of the pool's stone surround.
Working closely with the design team, we specified Burmese Teak, the hardwood long trusted in shipbuilding for its exceptional stability and natural resistance to moisture. Cut into a geometric herringbone parquet, each piece was hand-selected for its warm golden tone and distinctive ribboned grain. The pattern was carefully drawn to the room's geometry, with each diagonal meeting the stone border in perfect alignment so the wood and stone read not as separate materials, but as a single architectural composition.
Material: geometric parquet using Burmese Teak
